YSL Rouge Extravagant (01) Rouge Pur Couture The slim, matt lipstick YSL Rouge Extravagant (01) Rouge Pur Couture The slim, matt lipstick ($ 39.00 for 0.08 oz.) Is a light, medium red with neutral to warm undertones and a matte finish. It had the velvety smooth texture I expected it slipped comfortably over my lips, but it seemed more likely to “pill” and have light chunks of product that I had to squeeze and flatten.
It had mostly opaque pigmentation that peeled off easily along my deeper lip lines, highlighting rather minor texture issues on my lips. This hue stayed on well for over six hours, leaving a heavy stain, and feeling non-drying.

The formula should be “weightless” and “non-drying” and “stay there all day” with a “highly pigmented matt color”. The texture has a smooth, velvety consistency – it slipped on easily but didn’t feel wet or traditionally creamy, more like a silicone-based primer. Most of the colors were applied evenly, didn’t separate along my lip lines, and were light and comfortable to wear.
The pigmentation was mostly opaque to opaque, and the color range appeared to pull more midtone and deeper with a reasonable number of red-based hues. As a result, numerous shades lasted six hours or more, with red-based shades leaving very heavy stains (even by the next day, my lips were often pink to fuchsia!). Some shades seemed to go on and on due to the color itself and the underlying coloring power! As promised, the formula was non-drying.
The diamond shaped ball can be used a time or two to get the hang of it, but I didn’t find it difficult to use at all. The triangular point worked particularly well to give the arch shape of a sharper cupid if desired. The formula had a floral scent that was barely noticeable when switched on, and no discernible taste.

YSL Peculiar Pink (05) Rouge Pur Couture The slim, matt lipstick YSL Peculiar Pink (05) Rouge Pur Couture The slim, matt lipstick ($ 39.00 for 0.08 oz.) Is a medium-dark burgundy with subtle, cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. After about an hour it looked like a real matte finish.
The texture was smooth and velvety, which helped it slide comfortably over my lips, but stuck strongly to my lips for extremely long periods of wear (almost eight hours and a very heavy stain after that). It had an almost opaque pigmentation that ran off evenly. The formula felt neither drying nor moisturizing over time.
