New Delhi: Amid the stalemate between India and China at Line of Actual Control (LAC), India banned PUBG Mobile, one of the most popular games, along with 117 other Chinese apps on September 2, 2020.

These apps were banned from the Center under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act because these apps were involved in activities that undermined the sovereignty and integrity, defense and security of the country.

In June 2020, India banned 47 Chinese apps that were clones of 59 Chinese apps. As of November last year, the government had blocked 250 apps with Chinese links, including Alibaba Workbench, AliExpress, Alipay Cashier, PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik, PUBG MOBILE LITE, and Cam Scanner.

Bedsides India, PUBG is also banned by countries like China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Korea, Jordan, Nepal, Israel and Iraq for various reasons.

In the meantime, the battle royale game PUBG Lite will be officially retired worldwide on April 29th. The developers Krafton confirmed the news on the official website. “We are deeply grateful for the passion and support of the amazing number of PUBG Lite fans who have been with us.
