Hello Mariella!
Hourglass certainly makes great products, but they have gone backwards (or stagnated) when it comes to delivering inclusive products across their range. As a brand, they get SO much feedback from customers about expanding the ranges like powders, bronzers, blushes, and palettes to work for medium black and darker skin tones, but they don’t.
For me, I’ve been considering not checking the brand for the last year or so (I think it was the 2018 holiday that seemed “promising, but the 2019 holiday was back to normal), and the final straw was the reformulation and.” Release of the Illume Trio, a cream-based trio of highlight, blush, and bronze. If I remember correctly, they took it off the market for almost a year and it was originally only available in one variant … so they reworded it to be vegan and new to the market in 2020 … and still just the same Variant brought out. They didn’t respond to customers who asked for it. When multiple influencers called them out, they never responded publicly.
I feel like I made the same comment on Hourglass and haven’t brought out any darker hues in years, but while most brands are showing some improvement, Hourglass seems to be regressing (and at best it’s stagnating).
