For the uninitiated, the feature basically allows users to send money to other users via chats in the app. If you haven’t tried the feature yet, here is a simple guide to get you started. According to WhatsApp, an easy setup for quick transfers is: add your bank account just once to send and receive money on WhatsApp from anyone using UPI-based apps.

To use this feature, users need to open a WhatsApp account and tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner. Then you will find the Payments option via Settings. Tap Add Payment Method. You will be asked to accept and continue. A list of banks will open on the home page. Choose your bank

Once selected, you will need to verify your phone number. Tap Confirm by SMS. Once the verification process is complete, your bank details will be added under the payment methods, reported the BGR India.

While setting up WhatsApp Payments on one device is easy, sending money to recipients is as easy as a breeze. Here’s how you can use this feature to send money to others. First, open your WhatsApp account on your device. Open Payments under the three-dot menu

In the lower right corner of the screen you will find the New Payment option. The following page will show the list of contacts you have saved in your WhatsApp account. Select Send to UPI ID, enter the recipient’s name> Review> Enter the amount> press Next> Enter the UPI PIN. Alternatively, you can tap the contact you want to send money to. In the chat, tap the Attach button and select the payment option.

Enter the amount and check your UPI PIN. After entering the PIN, your payment will be processed. You will be redirected to your WhatsApp chat, where the amount you have transferred is displayed in the chat box.
