New Delhi: WhatsApp announced new features on Wednesday that will allow businesses to easily chat with people and keep growing. The company said it cut the time it takes businesses to get up and running from weeks to just five minutes.

The Facebook-owned company said it is also introducing new messaging features that can help people get business done faster. New list messages offer a menu of up to 10 options so that users no longer have to type in a reply.

“Answer buttons allow people to quickly choose from up to three options with just a quick tap of the finger, which a company can set in advance using their WhatsApp Business API account,” the company informed the virtual during the annual F8 conference Avatar.

The company said that as always, people will be in control of their chats.

“People still need to get in touch to start a conversation or request a business call on WhatsApp. With these updates, we’re also adding new ways for people to provide more feedback on their experience if they have a reason to block a deal, “said WhatsApp.

The company announced in April that people on WhatsApp could search more than 8 million company catalogs, including 1 million in India, to find something they might want to buy.

Over 50 million businesses and more than 175 million people send messages to a WhatsApp Business account every day.

“We are pleased that the new, simple onboarding will benefit more companies and find an efficient way to interact with their customers,” said Ravi Sundararajan, COO of the conversational messaging platform Gupshup.
