Facebook’s own messaging platform WhatsApp has been working on multi-device functionality for some time. This feature helps users register WhatsApp accounts on up to four linked devices. Now a new report further indicated that there will be a slight change in WhatsApp’s upcoming feature.

According to the WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp is currently working on the next iteration of its multi-device functionality. In particular, this new feature helps users when their primary WhatsApp account is linked to an Apple iPad. “NEWS: WhatsApp is finally working on Multi-Device 2.0, and you can use the iPad as a new linked device,” the publication wrote in its report.

The report further added that this functionality applies not only to iPads but also to Android tablets. “Android tablets should also support multiple devices on WhatsApp for Android,” wrote the blog site in a tweet.

This feature is currently under development and is expected to be released in a future WhatsApp update.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has started introducing redesigned Business Info sections on its platform. This new update will include various details including the type of business, uptime, and a one-line description of the business. The blog site also added that this feature will be introduced in the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 2.21.170.12.
