My problem with Marc Jacobs is that the most notable product of theirs is the highliner. Especially Blaquer, my mother’s favorite, and she rarely uses makeup; I need to make sure she has a constant supply of it.
I don’t think luxury brands do a good job with makeup, most of them are mediocre high markup products. But I think Marc Jacobs is better or she.
I like that they keep a pretty clean aesthetic. The packaging is elegant and classic, but still with a modern, sleek touch.
I like that they have a rather small product footprint without making a lot of useless releases.
The prices are a little too high for the quality. But they usually do a good job with value and minisets.
I don’t know the branding strategy, but I find it strange that they don’t invest that much in marketing. I appreciate that they seem to be very good at curating the influencers they work with, but more promotion is needed in this day and age.
As an odd difference, I’ve always hated the long thin packaging of their eyeshadow palettes.
