I really like how inclusive the brand is while still sticking to a specific aesthetic and market segment.
It is a brand that I like in the market and I hope it will continue to grow, but I am not part of their market segment and have no interest in their products.
Personally, I don’t like the packaging at all, the shapes and colors just don’t challenge me. Some even look ugly or cheesy to me. Even the more “classic” ones like the foundations didn’t look good to me when I saw them in stores at some point.
I’m also not a fan of glosses and highlighters (especially very colorful and shimmering), so I would never buy many of their products.
The complexion products have formulas that really don’t go well with my skin. Fortunately, I was able to try a few samples of the few products that have no fragrance; I wanted to support the brand in the beginning, but buying a full size would have been an epic failure.
And to be honest, Fenti is one of those weird brands that has tons of hues, but somehow neither one of them suits me (especially the concealer). Her light-medium warm undertones are too yellow. I have better brand matches with a quarter of the Fenti range. But I have so many brands to choose from that I’m happy for people who finally find a suitable one at Fenti.
The only product that I liked to some extent in the end was the Flyliner, which is actually a pretty good option for my Holy Grail (Physicians Formula Eye Boost, KVD Tattoo Liner – although I haven’t bought this for years). But if I had a chance, I would still buy Physicians Formula back.
I know it’s an unpopular opinion. 😅 I’ve gotten used to being nailed to the wall because I don’t like Fenti because … “Rihanna” and “inclusive brand / her range”.
