Good Morning Zamunda

UOMA Beauty Good Morning Zamunda Black Magic Color Mini Palette ($29.00 for 0.33 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that included three matte shades and six shimmer shades. The unfortunate part was that two of the shimmers were real duds, which was a surprise as I know the brand can do a spectacular shimmery eyeshadow (like Desert Rose in this palette!). The shimmers that were problematic were very stiff and firmly-pressed, which made it difficult to get product onto a brush (or even a fingertip, which would just compact the pan more firmly into the pan).

FU2

FU2 is a vivid, medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency felt slightly drier and thinner, but it had mostly opaque pigmentation that was buildable and blendable on bare skin. It wore well for eight and a half hours and left a faint stain behind.

Royal Bloodline

Royal Bloodline is a brighter, medium-dark berry with subtle, cool undertones and a sparkling finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation in a single layer, where the base seemed more translucent but there was plenty of sparkle to distract from that slight translucency. The consistency felt more loosely-pressed, so I’d recommend pressing and patting the product onto the lid to avoid fallout. It stayed on nicely for eight hours with slight fallout over time.

Aristocracy

Aristocracy has a warmer, plummy base with fine, more navy blue shimmer/pearl. The texture was quite firm and stiff to work with, which resulted in the base looking patchier and clinging to skin texture (which exacerbated the patchiness) and made it really hard to pick up product. I had to dig and jab my brush into the pan to loosen enough product to show up on my skin at all. It had sheerer, buildable coverage that lasted for six hours before fading.

I’d recommend using it with a dampened brush to make it less difficult to work with. I’m always struck by the inclusion of something like this when you know the brand can do great shimmers!

Moolah is a darker, green-leaning aqua with a frosted sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage in a single layer paired with a firmer, thinner texture that was stiffer to work with, so it was more challenging and required very firm pressure to get product onto a brush. There were signs of fading after seven hours of wear.

Gold Stacks

Gold Stacks is a medium-dark gold with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling finish. It had opaque pigmentation with a more cream-like texture–it seemed to have a lot of binder that gave it some slip and helped those sparkles adhere to the lid without being a bomb of fallout. It wore well for eight hours with faint fallout over time.

Wake Up

Wake Up is a medium-dark black with a matte finish. The consistency felt incredibly silky-smooth, but it was on the thinner side, which I felt made it harder to apply evenly in a single layer. It was a shade that definitely had to be blended out a bit, built back up, and blended again to work well. On the flip side, it was a more buildable black, which made it more versatile. It stayed on decently for eight hours before fading visibly.
