A month ago, Truecaller integrated a “COVID Healthcare Directory” function into its smartphone app. The latest development in this area is that the caller identification and spam blocking app has decided to work with MapMyIndia and FactChecker to improve the existing directory. According to the press release, details of up to 60,000 COVID-19-related facilities have been added to the app using MapMyIndia, including dedicated COVID-19 hospitals, vaccination centers, test centers and other such facilities.
Rishit Jhunjhunwala, MD of Truecaller India said the company is determined to help those on the front lines and the communities. Truecaller hopes this partnership will relieve those trying to find help contacts for COVID-19.

Rohan Verma, MapMyIndia CEO and Executive Director, said the company is fortunate to partner with Truecaller in the fight against COVID-19. He also announced that users of the app will be able to identify COVID-19-related facilities using the MapMyIndia widget present in the app.
According to the press release, there will be a MapMyIndia banner in the Truecaller app containing information about COVID-19-related healthcare facilities.
Meanwhile, Truecaller’s collaboration with FactChecker ensures that the COVID-19 auxiliary numbers are constantly reviewed by a fact-checking team. This was done to help people get quick help using the auxiliary numbers during the crisis.
TV and print journalist Govindraj Ethiraj also recognized the collaboration, saying FactChecker is excited to partner with Truecaller to expand the reach of SOS India4U www.sosindia4u.com, which enables first-hand verification of sources.
