Despite his gratitude that his family made it safely, father Nick Smithy, 33, was crushed by the condition of his charred home after doing renovations.

The TikTok star told the BBC how desperate he was after spending four months “and all of our hard-worked money” building his dream home.

“The house is not in order,” he said in a video to his more than 2.5 million followers in the video-sharing app.

The 33-year-old had previously worked as a bricklayer seven days a week before finding social media success.

“Doing social media means that I am there for my children and enjoy their time and company and it was wonderful and happy.

“But it was also devastating and harmful,” he said.

“We have come to the realization that in the world of social media you are better hidden.”

Around 25 firefighters fought for 90 minutes on Wednesday night against the flames that spread over the house after a car was set on fire in the driveway.

Nick said to the perpetrators, “My six week old boy was behind those windows when you did this.

“If this had happened at 12 o’clock at night, we might not have come down the stairs.”

In another dramatic video of the damage, the father of three shared how his daughters, ages six and eight, were sleeping in their bedroom when the fire broke out

In tears, Nick said, “My girls were in this room, but you don’t mind, do you?

HAPPY ESCAPE

“One filmed it, the other did it.

“It’s my little girls’ room. They just have it the way they want it.”

But the former brick remained grateful that his family escaped unscathed, as “there may have been seven deaths”.

“For those 15 seconds of fun in your eyes, it could have taken my family many years.”

Nick, who describes himself as “a guy with ADHD who wants people to be fine, who spreads positivity and joy, and is a bit of an idiot in my family,” shared his suspicions about the motivation behind the shocking attack.

He continued, “I love to see how people are doing well. We want other people to thrive and do well, and I know that there are some people in life who struggle and don’t like it when other people are successful or are doing well. “

The cause of the fire is now being investigated and there have been no arrests, but the father defiantly swore it would not prevent him from sharing videos with his followers.

“I just want to be with my family and I want to be safe and I want to protect them, and we have to take a step back, readjust ourselves, reevaluate and figure out how best to move forward.

“At the end of the day, I won’t give up what makes us happy.”

Nick Smith and his partner Jess became famous after sharing videos with their kids Jack, Amelia, Isabella and Teddy.

In addition to clips showing sweet personal moments and pranks, the family also helps charities and raised around £ 60,000 worth of gifts for the Salvation Army over Christmas.
