Foreign exchange sales in post offices have increased as families enjoyed the first school holidays of the new semester and travel restrictions were relaxed.
The pound’s relative strength has helped bring down prices for winter sunbathers traveling from the UK to some overseas resorts, Post Office Travel Money said.
Nick Boden, Head of Post Office Travel Money, said: “The pound sterling has remained buoyant this year despite the difficulties the UK has faced and is currently around 8% up against both the euro and the Croatian kuna worth a positive impact on holiday demand than a year ago, and post offices recorded a sharp rise in foreign exchange sales before the holidays. ”

When Post Office Travel Money calculated the average cost of a one-week package deal for two adults and two children, it found that families in Turkey, Croatia and the Algarve could potentially find a vacation package for around £ 1,500 to £ 1,600.
