A savvy personal finance blogger shared a simple tip for graduates that they can use to get discounts at stores and supermarkets.
Regular discounts are one of the perks of studying, and a financial professional would want non-college students to think about them too.
BeCleverWithYourCash, a personal finance blog by Andy Webb, encourages graduates to see if they can renew their discount card and sign up for a new NUS card.
He said a trick he picked up a few years ago where people sign up for online courses and then grab a NUS discount card no longer works, but he came up with a new one.

He said, “One of the first articles I wrote on the blog, and one of the most popular in years, was a hack to get a student discount if you weren’t a student.
“The trick was to sign up for an online course with certain providers that would entitle you to the NUS Totum card.
A financial expert has listed the best student discounts.
“I signed up for an online Photoshop card for the first time in 2013 and repeated it several times until these online education companies were all removed from NUS in 2018. Sad times.
“However, if you’ve used this trick before or graduated in the last three years, maybe you can get yourself a new NUS card!”

Andy said, “I looked at my old account and it was ready for me. One thing I noticed was that this didn’t seem to be an alumni card, but it worked the same – as long as I didn’t change my place of study (reconfirmation was required). “
If your details aren’t working, you can go to the Totum website and set up a support ticket that will give you a new Totum alumni card.
If you are a student who has graduated in the past three years, you can follow the same link and upload a certificate of completion.
Best NUS card discounts
You can search the NUS Totum website to see where to use it, although many companies aren’t listed there. So ask in the store or look for signs.

When you buy an iMac, iPad or Macbook, you get the education discount with an NUS card.
