SALT Bae’s newest restaurant in Saudi Arabia with £ 400 steaks has been branded a “waste of money” by diners – who only gave it 1.7 stars.

At the recent opening of the chef and restaurateur in the capital, Riyadh, customers complained about sky-high prices and “rude” staff.

Salt Bae, whose real name is Nusret Gökçe, recently announced that he was leaving London to celebrate his 28th birthday.

But just two weeks after the opening, guests find the celebrity chef’s prices difficult to swallow.

The high-end eatery was chewed through on Google, and 40 guests gave the eatery a measly 1.7 out of 5 stars.

Customers branded the high-end joint, which sells £ 400 worth of steaks, as “overpriced” and “very bad.”

One guest said, “A waste of money, and whoever goes to see him, I think his mind is flawed because there is just such a thing as him and better than him for a natural price.”

Another wrote: “The prices exploit the kidnappers who think they are from the wealthy class.”

A third said: “Very, very expensive – I would not recommend it.”

One customer simply summed up their experience as “very bad” and another guest berated the waiters as “rude”.

While one said, “The prices are high – you can buy a whole cow for the price of a steak.”

But other guests described Salt Bae’s new restaurant as “one of the best experiences in life”.

One avid customer said: “His steaks are really worth every penny that melts on your tongue.”

Another said, “Great experience. Chef Nusret was there too and is a very humble guy.”

Others praised the quality of the food and the “excellent” service – while another guest said it was “one of the most beautiful restaurants in the kingdom”.

The Sun approached Nurs-Et Riyadh and Nusret Gökçe for comment.

Salt Bae, which often poses with the rich and famous, is famous for extravagantly slicing expensive steaks and garnishing with its signature streusel.

He shared the news of his move to Saudi Arabia on his Instagram page.

He said, “Sunday is my last day in Lovely London. I want to see you beautiful people before I go.”

The veteran chef is believed to have at least 13 other restaurants in addition to his 15 Nusr-Et steakhouses in glitzy places like Miami and Dubai.

But it seems he didn’t quite manage to show up at all of his outposts after a Nusr-Et Steakhouse Turkey employee claimed he worked there for months and never met the chef.

And Salt Bae – whose London antics and jaw-dropping bills got him a string of headlines – was recently in hot water after promoting chefs.

He planned to pay them an hourly wage equivalent to the price of a bowl of porridge on his menu.

The measly pay was advertised despite the fact that his London restaurant was ranked the second most expensive restaurant in the world.

And despite the inflated price, guests have complained that the “kebab shop-style” food served is “barely edible”.
