That’s what matters most. Wrestling is a lot of things and it can be very fun. It can be a mix of action, drama, comedy, romance, and of course, athletics, but it’s also business. While it might be forgotten from time to time, wrestling companies are trying to make money. This has been a lot harder than usual lately, but WWE has done something to change that problem.
We are just beginning to get out of the coronavirus pandemic, but there is still a very long way to go. The same is especially true for wrestling and WWE. Last weekend the company brought things a little closer to normal by having fans in attendance for WrestleMania 37. This was the first time in over a year that there had been live fans. It means a lot and there is one aspect that has been overlooked.
According to Wrestlenomics Radio, WWE had ticket sales of approximately $ 10 million at WrestleMania 37. WWE reported 51,000 fans for the two-night shows and assumed 40,000 of those fans were paid at an average price of $ 250, which is the average price that WWE charged would make the company $ 10,000. The company has not announced a goal for the show as it has in the past.
WrestleMania 37 marked the first time in over thirteen months that a significant number of fans attended a WWE show. NXT had a small number of fans for their television shows, and AEW has allowed just over a thousand fans to attend their events since last year. There’s no word on when WWE will be allowing fans back all-day, although it isn’t expected until the second half of the year.
How much revenue did WWE make from two-day limited capacity Wrestlemania? @BrandonThurston? estimates about $ 10 million. ???
