The role of Prince Charles in “assisting” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s departure from the royal family was highlighted. It did so when the Prince of Wales’s office insisted that he pay a “substantial sum” to the former working royals. ITV Royal Rota’s podcast host Lizzie Robinson commented on the update.
She told the audience: “We knew that Prince Charles wanted to help her move.
“We were told that he was giving them some financial support.
“We also knew that they wanted to go to a place where they were financially independent and could support themselves.”
During his interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Duke of Sussex had made allegations about his father’s refusal to help them.

Harry said his family “literally cut him off” in the first quarter of the year.
The royal biographer Penny Junor commented: “I believe Prince Charles has been injured.
“We don’t know exactly how much [he gave his son].
“But it could cost up to £ 2 million to see [Harry] through his first foray into independence. “

Clarence House accounts show Charles continued to give money to the couple from the Duchy of Cornwall until about early summer, the first fiscal quarter of the year.

“The Duke’s comments during the Oprah interview related to the first quarter of the UK fiscal year, which begins in April each year.
“This is the same date that the ‘transition year’ of the Sandringham Accords began and corresponds to the timetable to which Clarence House was referring.”
