3. Amazon is eyeing the sixth London-based Amazon Fresh to Free Shop
Amazon will open an Amazon Fresh location in the Blue Fin Building in London’s Bankside.
It will be the sixth supermarket of its kind to offer Just Walk Out Shopping technology in the UK, which pioneered the Amazon Go offering in the US.
The other five are in Ealing, Wembley Park, White City, Camden and Canary Wharf.
4. Alibaba Group reports results for June 2021 quarter
“We started the new fiscal year with a healthy quarter,” said Daniel Zhang, Chairman and CEO of the Alibaba Group.
“In the June quarter, global annual active consumers across the Alibaba ecosystem reached 1.18 billion, an increase of 45 million from the March quarter of 912 million consumers in China.”
He added, “We believe in the growth of the Chinese economy and Alibaba’s long-term value creation, and we will continue to strengthen our technology lead to improve the consumer experience and help our enterprise customers make successful digital transformations.”
