Phytosurgence Singe Skin Spark Blush Balm ($ 17.07 for 0.14 oz.) Is a medium-dark coral with moderate, warm undertones. I noticed that the base seemed warmer as I veered out, although it looked a little more pink and closer to the color in the glass on my cheeks.
The texture was light, creamy, and mixable, which made it more forgiving and easier to work with with your fingertips or a brush. The product was quite pigmented as marketed so it was imperative to use a lighter hand to work with and then build up as needed. The paint was applied evenly to bare skin and blended well around the edges, then for a more transfer-resistant finish that shimmered slightly but didn’t really baptize (but wasn’t matte, either). It wore well for eight hours before it faded a little.

Formula overview
$ 17.07 / 0.14 oz. – $ 121.93 per ounce
The formula is said to have a “slightly powdery finish” without being “sticky or greasy”, coupled with a “Moussey cream” consistency. The brand advises using very little as it is an “incredibly pigmented product” intended to be “cut out” and used “on bare skin or over other base makeup”.
It is imperative to use the smallest amount; It can be even better to gently pick up the product with a dab brush and swirl once on the back of your hand to make sure there isn’t too much on the brush – the formula is SO pigmented! With my fingertips, all that was needed was a gentle tap with my index finger on the surface for each cheek; there is no need to swirl.
The consistency felt creamy, dense, but not too firm in the pot and was easy to apply and blend to bare skin or foundation. I liked to apply it with my fingertips as I felt it would add to my working hours and give me the option of having the product on one fingertip and then spreading and blending it with a clean fingertip.
The formula dries to a silky finish, not entirely matte, but not dewy. It looked very “skin-like” because the product lay seamlessly on my skin, brought out the natural finish of my skin and was more transfer-resistant due to the more pronounced dehydration. I’ve preferred to work one cheek at a time because it will be harder to blend them once it has dried, but I’ve had enough work time without feeling rushed (per cheek).
The sunglasses wore me between seven and eight hours before they faded a little, but they faded evenly and didn’t shift / wander as they wore off.
One thing that caught my eye was that some shades seemed to have a warmer base when I made the more transparent / blended swatch, but they seemed to get less warmer when I applied it to my cheeks (see Fervor swatched vs . applied).
