Phytosurgence Fume Skin Spark Blush Balm ($ 17.07 for 0.14 oz.) Is a dusty pink that initially appeared to have a warmer, more orange base, although it looked a little less orange and pink when it was applied to my cheeks. The texture was light, creamy, and glides well, which resulted in the blush being applied evenly to bare skin as well as foundation and blending easily as it did not tend to lift.
It was extremely pigmented where something went very, very far, so I would recommend using a very light hand and tapping the back of the hand a little first to get an idea of how much (or little!) It would take to achieve the desired degree of coverage. It was more pliable at first and then dried out to a more powder-like look and feel, although it retained a bit of sheen and didn’t look flat or dull. This shade lasted a good eight hours before noticeably fading.

Formula overview
$ 17.07 / 0.14 oz. – $ 121.93 per ounce
The formula is said to have a “somewhat powdery finish” without being “sticky or greasy”, coupled with a “moussey cream” consistency. The brand advises using very little as it is an “incredibly pigmented product” intended to be “washed out” and used “on bare skin or over other base makeup”.
It is imperative to use the smallest amount; it can be even better to gently pick up the product with a dab brush and swirl it once on the back of your hand to make sure not too much remains on the brush – the formula is SO pigmented! With my fingertips, a gentle tap with my index finger on the surface was sufficient for each cheek; there is no need to swirl.
The consistency felt creamy, dense, but not too firm in the pot and was easy to apply and blend to bare skin or foundation. I liked applying with my fingertips as it felt like it added to my working hours and gave me the option of applying the product on one fingertip, then spreading and blending it with a clean fingertip.
The formula dries to a silky finish, not entirely matte, but not dewy. It looked very “skin-like” because the product lay seamlessly on my skin, brought out the natural finish of my skin and was more transfer-resistant due to the more pronounced dehydration. I’ve preferred to work one cheek at a time because it will be harder to blend them once it has dried, but I’ve had enough work time without feeling rushed (per cheek).
The sunglasses wore me between seven and eight hours before they faded a little, but they faded evenly and didn’t shift / wander as they wore off.
One thing that caught my eye was that some shades seemed to have a warmer base when I made the more transparent / blended swatch, but they seemed to get less warmer when I applied it to my cheeks (see Fervor swatched vs . applied).
