The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is the first smartphone with OxygenOS from OnePlus and the integrated ColorOS platform from Oppo. The changes aren’t big, but users can find some minor UI tweaks, especially in the camera app. Please remember. China’s OnePlus smartphones ran with Hydrogen OS up to the OnePlus 9 series, which came with ColorOS. Liu Fengshoo, COO of OnePlus, recently announced Weibo OnePlus 8, 8 Pro and 8T will receive a ColorOS update in the first quarter of 2022.
OnePlus officials haven’t said whether this deployment will apply to all OnePlus 8-series devices around the world or just Chinese devices. In addition, it is still unclear whether ColorOS updates will be available for older OnePlus series such as the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 6 series.
Remember, OnePlus released an OxygenOS 11 update based on the stable Android 11 version of the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. Like any other update, it will be rolled out gradually for all users. Updates include UI updates, camera improvements, a new Insight watch face for environment indicators, dark mode improvements, dark mode shortcuts, weather animation improvements, and headroom improvements.
