Total dominance
NARS Total Domination Air Matte Lip ColorNARS Total Domination Air Matte Lip Color ($ 26.00 for 0.24 oz.) Is a light, medium red with warmer undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had a smoother, more velvety consistency that was very light and airy as it spread lightly over my lips to create an even layer of opaque coverage.
It wasn’t supposed to be opaque though, so this was a downside (although some might prefer the higher coverage). This particular shade dried more noticeably compared to other shades in the range, which tended to retain some sheen the first hour of wear, but looked semi-matt within minutes. It actually wore better than most of the range and was less prone to accentuating imperfections and turning into lip lines over time (although it still did, to some extent). The color stayed on well for four hours before deteriorating, but most of the colors were intact for almost five hours and did not feel drying over time.

Formula overview
$ 26.00 / 0.24 oz. – – $ 108.33 per ounce
The formula is said to be “feather light” with a “soft focus finish” and a “creamy feel” that offers “buildable cover”, “soft matte finish” and “longwear”. They have a smooth, velvety-creamy consistency that is even and light to the touch, but they were quite pigmented and not particularly long-lasting.
I think the lack of longevity is due to the product sitting on my lips without sticking particularly well, so they wore out quickly, especially while eating or drinking. They flattered for two to three hours, but they looked drier and accentuated lip lines / clung to texture flaws by the third or fourth period of wear, but they didn’t last much longer.
They were also very pigmented; In no case would I have described that the formula is buildable. One puff of the product provided a near-opaque to completely opaque coverage of my lips. To get a better buildable cover, one would have to apply significantly fewer products – probably only in the middle of the lips – and then use a fingertip to sprinkle the color outwards. This is a technique used to hide pigmented lip products.
They were comfortable to wear, and although they looked drier towards the end of wearing, they didn’t seem to dry in the formula. They had a slight vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Power trip
NARS Power Trip Air Matte Lip ColorNARS Power Trip Air Matte Lip Color ($ 26.00 for 0.24 oz.) Is a deep red with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It had almost opaque paint coverage in a single layer, which was much more than promised as the formula was supposed to be buildable.
The texture felt very light, smooth and spreadable, with a rather velvety, foam-like quality. The paint was applied evenly and did not tend to highlight imperfections in texture than it was initially applied, but the formula deteriorated more easily and seemed particularly prone to clinging to imperfections, blemishes, and getting into my lip lines, if it wore itself off. There was something that felt a lot like it was just sitting on my lips instead of sticking / integrating in some way, which I think is also why it wasn’t that long-lasting. It took four hours decently, with the color more intact (but very unflattering) for five hours, though at least the formula didn’t dry out my lips.
