NARS Darling Air Matte BlushNARS Darling Air Matte Blush ($ 30.00 for 0.21 oz.) Is a lighter, light medium pink coral with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had pure color coverage that wasn’t easy to assemble in person; The more I tried to build up the paint, the less paint stuck to the surface if the product lifted and balled up in some places. It should be simple, but it should also be buildable, which it wasn’t.
It was best applied with a fluffy, synthetic brush, but the formula was difficult to work with as it filled up and was very difficult to smooth for an even application of paint. It didn’t improve by warming it up between my fingertips or on the back of my hand. The pressure it took to really squeeze and almost grind out the pill-like parts was too high and didn’t really affect my cheeks (which are less firm / flat like my forearm). The color was hard to see, and it really was the sharpness that made it look passable at all.
It did not apply well on base products as it tended to lift and move the foundation / concealer. It was best over bare skin, although “best” means “not the worst” in this context. A visible fading was observed after six hours.

The formula is said to have a “soft, matte finish” with a “clear, buildable cover” that is “perfectly distributed” and “beautifully blends and blends for a lasting second skin color”. According to the brand, the formula can be applied with your fingertips or a brush, and I haven’t had any luck with your fingertips at all. A brush was marginally better, but I couldn’t get even coverage with any method or tool I tried.
The pressure it took to get a smooth application just didn’t lend itself to an actual cheek application. I could cover my arm a little smoother and more evenly where I could really press and rub my skin, but it’s not practical to do that with your cheek (which is less flat), especially when you have a base product on (welcome in Lift City!).
The texture of the blush felt airy and frothy to the touch, but it pilled immediately upon contact with my skin and I just couldn’t get it to smooth in practice. I tried applying the product to the back of my hand to warm it up, but it dried quickly and still quite pilled. When I applied the product to my skin, almost no coverage was available. When I tried to put a cover on, the first layer just squeezed or peeled off my skin, so the more I got into it, the worse it looked.
The little product that was translated (and bad as it looked) stayed there for six to seven hours before fading. They provided the sheer coverage, but they weren’t buildable, blendable, smoothing, blurry, or durable.
