Formula overview

$ 23.00 / 0.11 oz. – $ 209.09 per ounce

The formula is said to “blur, smooth and hydrate” with “the intensity of a mat and the comfort of a cream” and delivers “ultra-pigment”.[ation]. “The consistency reminded me of the more new” matte “formulas that feel velvety without moisture / shine – those that feel more silicone-heavy and primer-like, that are often thinner too. I would say that’s what the new Rouge Artist formula has a bit more traditional creaminess so that there was a silky sheen (which was marketed as – satin finish!).

The consistency was smooth, light, and thin without feeling sticky. There were multiple shades in the close-ups that looked like tiny bits were scattered on my lips, almost like it had pilled, although I didn’t feel it when I pressed my lips together and couldn’t see it in person.

They usually had an opaque to opaque color coverage in a single layer. Most of the shades were applied evenly and sat well enough on my lips, although some slightly emphasized my lip lines. They carried four to six hours with me, with some of the very rich, deeper hues lasting a little longer. For the most part, the formula felt non-drying to slightly moisturizing to me.

A sweet, slightly floral scent was noticeable for the first few minutes, but I couldn’t detect any taste.

Is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and an off-white finish. It had a semi-opaque pigmentation that did not provide full coverage because the product was too slippery for that.

The consistency felt light, thin but not clingy, and had more lubricity than typical creaminess, but it still managed to soften up a bit. It wore well for four hours and felt slightly moisturizing over time.
