Rose flair (170)
Make up for Ever Rose Flair (170) Rouge Artist Lipstick (2020) Make up for Ever Rose Flair (170) Rouge Artist Lipstick (2020) ($ 23.00 for 0.11 oz.) Is a medium black, flushed plum with strong, warm undertones and a satin finish. The texture felt smooth and light, and felt more like a velvet and cream hybrid. So it had a smooth consistency, but a slight sheen.
It had rich pigmentation in a single layer that was evenly and smoothly applied to my lips. It stayed good for four and a half hours and felt slightly moisturizing over time.

Formula overview
$ 23.00 / 0.11 oz. – – $ 209.09 per ounce
The formula is said to “smudge, smooth and hydrate” with “the intensity of a mat and the comfort of a cream” and delivers “ultra-pigment”[ation]”The consistency reminded me of the newer ‘matte’ formulas that feel velvety without moisture / shine – those that feel more silicone-heavy, primer-like and often thinner. I would say the new Rouge Artist formula is a bit more traditional Creaminess, hence there was a satin sheen (which was as marketed – satin finish!).
The consistency was smooth, light and thin without feeling clingy. Multiple shades were seen in the close-ups that looked like small pieces were scattered on my lips, almost like it had pilled, although I didn’t feel it when I pressed my lips together and couldn’t see it in person.
They usually had an opaque to opaque color coverage in a single layer. Most of the colors were applied evenly and sat well enough on my lips, although there were a few that slightly emphasized my lip lines. They carried me for four to six hours with some of the very rich, deeper hues that lasted a little longer. For the most part, the formula felt non-drying to slightly moisturizing to me.
There was a sweet, slightly floral scent that was noticeable for the first few minutes, but I didn’t notice any taste.

Positive purple (172)
Make Up Forever Upbeat Purple (172) Rouge Artist Lipstick (2020) Make Up Forever Upbeat Purple (172) Rouge Artist Lipstick (2020) ($ 23.00 for 0.11 oz.) Is a dark purple with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The lipstick had a rich color payoff in a single pass that was applied evenly and evenly to my lips without puffing. The texture was light, smooth, and thin (but not clingy!) And didn’t tend to accentuate my lip lines or lip texture. It carried well for four and a half hours and felt slightly moisturizing when worn.

Explosive Peach (302)
Forever Explosive Peach Makeup (302) Rouge Artist Lipstick (2020) Forever Explosive Peach Makeup (302) Rouge Artist Lipstick (2020) ($ 23.00 for 0.11 oz.) Is a lighter, medium pink coral with moderate, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had a semi-opaque pigmentation that didn’t build up as well. The consistency was a bit pliable, thin, and light with a rather velvety glide, if not quite as silicone-heavy as is typical of this type of formula.
This shade was not as even as other shades in the range and appeared to result in a stronger pilling / product bundle when compared to other shades. The color lasted decently for three hours and felt neither drying nor moisturizing.
