Make-up by Mario Sierra Ultra suede lipstick ($ 24.00 for 0.14 oz.) Is a medium-dark peach with warmer, orange undertones and a soft, matte finish. The texture was firmer, almost stiff to work with in the tube, so I had to use a firmer hand to pull it over my lips, which didn’t make the most comfortable formula to apply. It felt more silicone-like where the product pilled a little while I was working with it, and this was seen further as it settled into my lip lines and clung to texture imperfections. It had a semi-opaque paint cover that was worn decently for two hours and didn’t dry off.

Formula overview
$ 24.00 / 0.14 oz. – $ 171.43 per ounce
The formula is said to be a “comfortable matte” finish that provides “full coverage” that “does not dry” and includes “smoothing gels and texturizing powder” that provides a “smooth, matte, soft appearance”. It’s a silicone heavy formula that’s thin, very light, and has a “soft matte” finish that is mostly matte, but not quite as flat at first as a true matte lipstick.
I find that this type of formula is a more common release from a variety of brands, and they don’t often have a lot of differentiation. Unfortunately, in my experience, most of these formulas have a tendency to highlight lip texture and imperfections – especially to catch dandruff, even slight dryness – and to dissolve into lip wrinkles when worn. The lighter shades tend to apply worst and look worst, while medium and deeper shades can be applied smoother and more flattering.
I noticed that the red and berry tones of the series in the tube seemed stiffer than most of the other hues in the series, and this caused the base of the lipstick to break off the twisting mechanism (which broke the following sunglasses: Alicia, Kiana, Kristen, Amanda).
The pigmentation varied from a semi-opaque to an opaque covering power, with lighter shades having a purer covering power compared to deeper shades. The initial consistency was firmer in the tube, though not so severe that I pulled painfully, but I found this tends to be less pigmented and tends to be a better application when building shorter, overlapping strokes overall.
The formula didn’t dry out and was very light so it felt like I had nothing on, but they only wore between two and five hours with some shades exceeding that range (like a red).

Makeup by Mario Sam Ultra suede lipstick ($ 24.00 for 0.14 oz.) Is a light, rose-coral color with moderate, warm undertones and a soft, matte finish. It had an opaque pigmentation that stuck to my lips fairly evenly, but there was a light product that pulled into my deeper lip lines, which worsened after the three hours the shading lasted.
The texture was a bit denser in the tube and barely slipped, so it didn’t slide over my lips as easily (on the other hand, the product didn’t slide around while wearing either). It felt very light and flexible enough that it wasn’t uncomfortable or drying out to wear.
