Desert rose

Makeup by Mario Desert Rose Soft Pop Powder BlushMakeup by Mario Desert Rose Soft Pop Powder Blush ($ 24.00 for 0.16 oz.) Is a muted, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium pigmentation that could be built up (as marketed) to achieve a largely opaque coverage with a second layer.

The texture was soft, silky, and smooth without being too powdery or too tightly pressed into the pan. The product applied well to bare skin as well as over the foundation, which was a surprise as I find that the thinner, silky, and matte texture often gets darker or blotchy on bare skin. Fading marks were visible after eight hours of wear.

Formula overview

$ 24.00 / 0.16 oz. – $ 150.00 per ounce

The formula is said to have a “buildable”, healthy-looking color tone “that” blends easily “thanks to the” silky “texture. It was more in a soft, semi-gloss finish and a matte finish. The pigmentation ranged from medium to predominantly opaque, and they built up to a more opaque coverage right from the start and lasted eight hours on average.

The texture was soft, smooth, and finely ground without being too powdery, and while it was a thinner powder overall, it turned out to be no problem when applied. The blush was applied evenly to bare skin as well as over the foundation without lifting the base products, and I had no issues with the very matte finish going much darker or blotchy over an emollient base (often the biggest problem with matte blushes! ).
