The texture was light, smooth, and slightly emollient with good glide, although it seemed more prone to getting stuck in my lip lines, which was imperceptible at first (except in the close-up photo) but was more personally noticeable after two hours of wear and tear. This shade stayed decent for three hours and felt slightly moisturizing over time.

The formula is said to have a “clear, buildable color” that is moisturizing while also being long lasting with “six hours” of shine and “eight hours” of color.
These primarily have an unexpectedly long shelf life. Eight hours of wearing is a masterpiece for any lipstick, let alone one that is more transparent, brighter and moisturizing. It’s probably not a shock that they haven’t worn for nearly eight hours. Wear times ranged from three to four hours, which matched other, brighter formulas with similar coverage and was slightly longer than the average Luster lipstick in the past (although it is consistent with the recently released Lustres).
The updated version of the Luster finish is smoother, creamier and has more even coverage. It’s still a lighter, thinner consistency when compared to the other MAC lipsticks and most of the other lipstick formulas on the market. The colors that were brought back into the new formula were pretty consistent with the previous versions.
Most shades that were applied evenly did not seem to capture or highlight any texture imperfections on my lips and did not tend to lodge in my lip lines. That being said, the current range is stronger around midtones, and it is often very light hues that can be the culprits in both.
Opacity ranged from semi-transparent to medium, and most shades were buildable to semi-opaque, although they tended to have medium opacity within an hour or so of wear. I found that as soon as some of the shine had worn off, for example when you drank from a glass of water or dabbed lightly, the color that remained was more like the first layer of the product.
They smelled of vanilla but had no discernible taste.

MAC Can’t Dull My Shine Lusterglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick ($ 22.00 for 0.1 oz.) Is a medium dark brown with moderate, warm undertones and a glossy, cream-colored finish. It had medium buildable pigmentation as marketed that applied evenly and smoothly to my lips. The texture was light, a bit firmer in the tube, but it warmed up quickly and slid over my lips. It carried well for four hours and felt slightly moisturizing over time.
