Step Bright Up (Medium / Low)
MAC Step Bright Up (Medium / Low) Extra Dimension Skinfinish Trio (39.50 US dollars for 0.31 oz.) Is a new, limited trio of warm-toned highlighters that were mostly opaque to opaque, mixable and long-lasting. They performed consistently with previous Extra Dimension skin finishes.
They have a gel-powder hybrid formula, which means the powders can feel almost “stiff” to those who haven’t tried this type of formula, but they work well with moderately dense, slightly rounded brushes and deliver particularly seamless powder on skin in such a way that they look almost creamy.

Open tricks
Open tricks is a medium, rosy copper with moderate, warm undertones and a smooth, luminous finish. The texture felt a bit firmer, as expected for the type of formula, but easily picked up with a moderately dense brush and applied evenly color that blends with little effort. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation that held up well for eight and a half hours before visibly fading.

It’s a powder highlighter that I would describe as a moderate to intense highlighter, and it comes in a variety of shades, some of which could work as highlighter blushes / bronzers on some skin tones and true highlighters on other skin tones. In general, the formula is very pigmented, mixable, and lasts for about eight to nine hours on me.

Where the magic happens
Where the magic happens is a darker gold with warmer undertones and a metallic sheen. It had a rich color release paired with a moderately dense, smooth texture that wasn’t powdery but was nonetheless picked up well with a brush and blended with ease. It was a good eight and a half hours before it faded noticeably.

On the secret
On the secret is a rich, medium-dark copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a lighter copper shimmer throughout. It had a shiny finish that shone without emphasizing the natural texture of my skin. The highlighter had a rich color release in a single layer that was paired with a moderately dense, slightly firmer consistency, though it wasn’t stiff and difficult to blend. It stayed fine for nine hours before it faded a little.
