MAC Behind the Curtain Shadeshifter Duochrome eyeshadow ($ 22.00 for 0.03 oz.) Is a silvery lilac with a sparkling, metallic sheen that has shifted from cooler, silvery lilac to a warmer pink. The texture was incredibly emollient, which resulted in the larger glitter particles transferring and sticking to the skin without much fallout.

However, I found that I had to be careful and gentle blending to avoid excessive precipitation, and I had the most even application when I pressed the product onto my eye with a fingertip. A dry brush did not pick up the product evenly, while a wet brush brought in too much additional moisture and made it more prone to slipping. It had an opaque pigmentation that lasted well for eight hours and turned out slightly over time.

MAC Calling Your Bluff Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow ($ 22.00 for 0.03 oz.) Is a light-medium, pink plum with warm undertones and a glossy, sparkly metallic finish. That shade changed to a warmer, yellowish orange, but it wasn’t the most extreme or obvious change.

It had rich coverage of paint in a single coat, although it was best applied with a fingertip to minimize fallout. The texture was very smooth without slipping as long as I didn’t use a wet brush (i.e. fingertips or a dry brush, the latter gives more fallout). It carried well for eight hours with light rainfall over time.

Ho Ho Hocus

MAC Ho Ho Hocus Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow ($ 22.00 for 0.03 oz.) Is a light medium green with subtle, warm olive undertones and lighter, lighter gold and emerald green sparkles. It went from a lighter, warmer green to a deep olive green, although I found the change to be more moderate.

The consistency was very emollient, almost wet, which resulted in the eyeshadow being applied evenly and having good adhesion with minimal fallout. A fingertip was the easiest method, however, as a dry brush won’t pick up the product as well as desired. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer that lasted a good eight and a half hours with slight fallout (far less than one would expect).

MAC Prrrplexing Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow ($ 22.00 for 0.03 oz.) Is a darker, bluish-green that changes to a true navy blue with a touch of red at the most extreme end. It had a very emollient texture that was almost wet to the touch, which resulted in the product sticking to bare skin without much precipitation (and actually wearing eight hours with little precipitation).

The eyeshadow had an opaque pigmentation with a smooth application of paint with a fingertip or a dry brush, but the dry brush had a noticeable drop off during application.

Right in front of your eyes

MAC Right Before Your Eyes Shadeshifter Duochrome Eyeshadow ($ 22.00 for 0.03 oz.) Has a soft, rosy-mauve base with warmer undertones and contrasting gold sheen that shifted from pale gold to warmer gold at Chartreuse. This had the most noticeable shift from the hues published alongside, which made it closer to the premise of the formula.

The texture was smooth and emollient with a built-in glue that made it easy to apply such a sparkling product. I preferred to use a fingertip to apply as this resulted in almost no fallout during application, while a dry brush had some fallout during initial application if I wasn’t very careful when pressing. I wouldn’t recommend a dampened brush as it introduced too much extra slip.

The eyeshadow had an almost opaque color coverage that lasted a good eight and a half hours with slight sagging over time.
