MAC for my next trick lipstick ($ 21.00 for 0.1 ounce) is a deep pink with moderate, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had an opaque paint release in a single layer that was applied evenly to my lips but pulled away and embedded into some of my deeper lip lines so it wasn’t as forgiving as other hues in the range.
The lipstick felt denser and a little thicker, which may have been responsible for the settling. It has worn well for five hours and felt slightly moisturizing when worn.

MAC Lipstick comes in a variety of finishes, and pigmentation and wear and tear usually depend on the finish. The sheer finishes, like Lustres, tend to only wear a few hours and have sheer coverage (as intended) and won’t dry out.
Some of the original matte paints have a stiffer, drier formula, while newer ones have a velvety silicone feel, and the latter are creamier, more comfortable to wear, and easier to apply, but most matte paints are fairly pigmented and long-lasting, although some dry.
The Amplified and Satin finishes usually have good pigmentation, a slightly creamy to moderately creamy consistency with a bit of sheen, and a moderate to long shelf life with deeper, richer hues that are worn longer. The frost and metallic finishes show the greatest variance between the colors with an opacity from semi-transparent to opaque with average wear and tear and non-drying to slightly drying formulas. All MAC lipsticks smell of vanilla, but have no discernible taste.

MAC Say the magic word lipstick ($ 21.00 for 0.1 oz.) Is a darker pink with subtle, cool undertones and a natural sheen with barely noticeable pearls. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a light, smoother consistency that was still a bit thin (but not sticky!). It lasted well for four hours and felt slightly moisturizing over time.

MAC Magic Charmer lipstick ($ 21.00 for 0.1 oz.) Is a deep, brownish burgundy red with subtle, cool undertones and a satin finish. It wore off to a rather matte finish within an hour of wearing. It had a rich drop of color in a single layer that stuck well to my lips, although it wasn’t the most indulgent lip texture so it would have less emphasized my lip lines.
The consistency was slightly creamy, dense, without being thick or heavy. It lasted a good five and a half hours and didn’t feel drying out.
