Velvet petal
Lisa Eldridge Velvet Petal True Velvet lipstick color ($ 36.00 for 0.12 oz.) Is a deep, rosy mauve with subtle, warm undertones and a soft, matte finish. It delivered an opaque pigmentation in a single stroke that could be applied evenly and smoothly over my lips without catching imperfections or noticeably getting stuck in my deeper lip lines (I could only see the smallest amount in close-up). It had a velvety consistency that slid easily over my lips but never felt heavy. It lasted a good five hours and felt slightly moisturizing over time.

The formula is said to be a “creamy, moisturizing mat with a slight sheen” that is “long-lasting and non-drying”. The three shades introduced so far are very pigmented with a slightly creamy, velvety texture that is thicker (but not difficult!) Or even slippery compared to the Insanely Saturated formula.
The colors applied evenly and smoothly, and were more flattering (less prone to emphasizing lip texture or lip lines) than the average matte lipstick. They carried well between five and seven hours, and they didn’t feel dry or moisturized over time. The formula has no smell or taste.

Lisa Eldridge Velvet Cinnabar True Velvet lipstick color ($ 36.00 for 0.12 oz.) Is a medium-dark copper with moderate, warm undertones – balanced between red and orange – paired with a soft, matte finish. The consistency was light, smooth and velvety with good lubricity during application, but it adhered well with an even, opaque coverage that lasted well for five hours. The formula felt slightly moisturizing when worn.
