Laura Mercier Essential Red Violet Silky Lipstick Cream Laura Mercier Essential Red Violet Silky Lipstick Cream ($ 32.00 for 0.12 oz.) Is a deep plum with subtle, cool undertones and a satin sheen. It had rich coverage of color in a single layer that stuck evenly and smoothly on my lips with an even application that never pulled on my lips.
The texture felt smooth, light, and velvety, with a thinness that wasn’t sticky. It lasted well for six hours, stain and felt slightly moisturizing when worn.

The formula is said to have a “powerful color” with “weightless decadence” that is “moisturizing and smoothing”. The pigmentation was almost opaque to opaque in a single layer that could be applied smoothly and without tugging. The texture was slightly creamy but more velvety overall so it could slide easily over my lips but not feel overly slippery.
The problem I had was that the formula wasn’t particularly forgiving of the natural lip texture or imperfections, so despite the exfoliation before application, it did highlight some areas that I wasn’t expecting as the formula was supposed to smooth out. It’s also leveled off a bit in deeper lip lines, which (in person, not just on the close-ups) is noticeable with lighter shades than with lighter or deeper tones. They lasted between four and six hours and felt slightly moisturizing.

Is a deep, flushed plum with subtle, cool undertones and a satin sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that didn’t build up, possibly because it was slippery, making it feel (and look) more shiny.
The product didn’t stick to the inside of my lips as well and it also tended to get stuck in my deeper lip lines. The color lasted decently for five hours, leaving a stain, and feeling slightly moisturizing over time.

Is a deep, flushed purple with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had a semi-opaque color release paired with a moderately emollient consistency that was more slippery and creamy compared to most of the color shades in the series.
Unfortunately, this showed in application as the paint wasn’t applied as evenly as needed, didn’t stick well to the inside of my lips and had visible streaks and settled in my lip lines. It lasted five hours, left a stain, and felt at least slightly moisturizing.
