Lancome Si Only (277) L’Absolu Rouge Transparent lipstick ($ 32.00 for 0.14 oz.) Is a muted, medium pink with subtle, neutral to warm undertones and a bright finish. It had semi-transparent to medium buildable pigmentation with a smooth, slightly emollient texture that was almost balsamic, but thinner and not as slippery. It remained comfortable to apply and wear, but held better than the typical lip balm. This shade lasts a good four hours and feels slightly moisturizing over time.

The formula is said to be “moisturizing” and “eight hours” to wear and is available in three finishes (transparent, cream and matte). The cream and matt tones are highly pigmented, while the transparent finish is of medium and buildable coverage.

The texture of the cream finish was slightly creamy, light and not too thin or too thick, so that it was pleasant, evenly applied and flattered on the lips. The matte finish was a bit thicker and “heavier” by comparison, although it was still easy to wear, and it had more of a satin finish to begin with, which dulled away after an hour or two. The transparent finish was smoother and had a glossier finish with translucency, but wasn’t so transparent that all shades would look the same.

Most shades didn’t last for eight hours for me, although the wearing time was more like four to six hours, with most medium and deeper shades lasting five to six hours and the lighter shades and transparent finish colors lasting more than four hours. The formula was moisturizing in all three finishes.

There was a noticeable, powdery-floral scent that sometimes easily turned into a taste. It was a more fragrant product that I smelled for a few hours in the carrier, not just in the tube or the first time it was applied.

Lancome Henne (283) L’Absolu Rouge Moisturizing lipstick ($ 32.00 for 0.14 oz.) Is a medium dark brown with moderate, warm undertones and a lighter, warmer bronze bead that gives it a slightly metallic, glowing finish. The consistency was moderately emollient with a bit of slurry – which made it clearer in its slip and creaminess compared to most shades within the color palette I tested – and it didn’t apply as well to the inside of my lips.

The paint itself had semi-opaque paint coverage that was evenly blended with only a small portion of the product getting into my deeper lip lines which was only seen in the close-ups but not what I personally discovered. It has worn well for four and a half hours and was moisturizing while worn.
