When it comes to breaking down the taboo feelings that many people of color have when it comes to money, Simmons believes that if you can have girls’ conversations or sit down with the guys to discuss sex, intimacy, religion, or even politics, then money should be nothing but a thing.
“The more we try not to make money a taboo subject, the more we can build a working relationship with money. We need to stop having these negative fear-based responses to money and replace them with positive responses where we could actually start creating that wealth mentality, ”she says. “Especially when it comes to the minority community, where a lot of our self-esteem is embedded in the clothes we wear, the shoes we wear, and the titles [we have]. If we can change just a fraction of that, we can help fill the wealth gap and change the future of money, especially when it comes to minorities and women. “
With three episodes already available for streaming on Spotify and a new digital series, Going Public, on Entrepreneur.com starting October 19, Simmons brings all topics of millennial money to the table and discusses creditworthiness, debt, luxury branding Shopping and Cheat Syndrome and more in 24 episodes of Mind Body Wealth.

While her financial tips are always fine, Simmons also understands the importance of rewarding herself and splurging a bit when she can.
