Maundy Thursday is part of Holy Week and precedes Good Friday, the day Christians remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It will be observed on Thursday April 1st of this year. The term Maundy has Latin origins; it means mandatum, which means commandment. The day commemorates Jesus’ last supper, when he gave his disciples a new commandment to love one another.
