ILIA Songbird NightLite tanning powder ($ 34.00 for 0.42 oz.) Is a medium dark maroon with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque buildable pigmentation, although it had a lot of pigmentation and I wouldn’t think it was that buildable – you definitely need to use a light hand to do this.
It had a soft, slightly powdery texture that could be finely ground and blended onto bare skin. This shade was applied evenly to my cheeks and it spreads well around the edges. It took a good eight and a half hours before it visibly faded.

Formula overview

The formula is said to be “super creamy” with a “glow finish” with an intensity you can “choose” for more color. I wouldn’t call the formula buildable; It was pretty pigmented where a little lot was enough, so you should use a lighter hand, especially if you want more buildable coverage with this formula.
The texture was soft, smooth, and fairly miscible without being too powdery or too tightly pressed into the pan. It didn’t blend on bare skin the way I would have liked, but I had no problem blending it over matte or solid foundation. It’s not entirely unexpected that a matte finish doesn’t blend so easily over bare skin, but it was an area where it could have worked better. The formula lasted for eight to nine hours before it visibly faded.
