CHELSEA and Manchester City benefit most from their previous performances in Europe after the Champions League semi-finals this season.

Both have brought in just under £ 80m after the Blues pushed aside Borussia Dortmund in the last eight games against Porto and City.

Chelsea have deposited £ 79.8million so far this season for their performances in Europe, while the citizens of Pep Guardiola brought in £ 76.8million, according to Football-coefficient.eu data.

The quarterfinals win was worth a cool £ 10.4 million for both sides.

And if they can go one step further and qualify for the 2021 Showpiece Finals, the club’s box office is worth an additional £ 13 million.

If either Chelsea or City take the trophy they will raise an additional £ 3.5million, but of course the title would mean a lot more.

Liverpool missed the chance to reach the last four after a 0-0 draw against Real Madrid at Anfield, which left Jurgen Klopp’s men 3-1 overall.

2019 winners still receive a sizable check worth £ 60.9 million for their efforts.

The fortunes offered in Europe’s premier competition dwarf the financial benefits of playing in the Europa League – where the rest of the Prem teams are.

Manchester United have the significant advantage that they dropped into the tournament thanks to third place in their Champions League group.
