The short video clip app has turned previously unknown people into world stars who are now worth millions, but others struggle to make a profit.

How much money can you make with TikTok?
How much money you can make with TikTok depends on a few factors.
Your number of followers is a big factor, as is your willingness to partner with brands or develop your own products for sale.
Influencer Marketing Hub has developed a tool that you can use to find out how much a TikToker is making per post.
You can then do the calculations and figure out how much per view that would be for each video.
For example, if you enter TikTok star Addison Rae’s account name, which is @addisonre, the tool claims she can make an estimated $ 50,821-84,701 (£ 37,000-62,000) per post.
Rae has 85.2 million TikTok followers and she can get millions of views, but the number is not consistent for every post.
Sometimes it can get around five million and sometimes around 70 million views.
Rae will likely make the most money on TikTok through branding collaborations and sponsored content.
In the Influencer Marketing Hub, you can also enter your TikTok account to see how much you could make.
If you are eligible, you can join the TikTok Creator Fund and then TikTok could pay you for content.
However, you may not be making as much as you think you are making.
According to Mashable, some top creators said they made “between two and four cents per 1,000 views”.
