Taipei [Taiwan] October 3 (ANI): Hong Kong activists protested in Taiwan on the Chinese National Day, calling on the people of the seafaring nation to step up efforts to prevent “Chinese money” from flowing into their economy.

These pro-democracy groups held demonstrations against the repressive behavior of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and warned of China’s continued attempts to infiltrate the media and political life of the democratic island, Radio Free Asia reported.
The activists also protested Hong Kong’s National Security Law passed last year, fearing that Taiwan could suffer a similar fate if the island is not careful about who or what it lets in.
Meanwhile, the protesters also sprayed the portrait of Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping.
“October 1st marks the date their totalitarian regime was established, so we, the oppressed, give them the gift of protest in return,” said a Hong Kong man named Sky.
“Those of us who are in a free and democratic Taiwan will send our congratulations to China in the form of a portrait of Xi Jinping,” Sky added.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong groups also called on 23 million people in Taiwan to boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and democratic reforms in Hong Kong and Macau, Radio Free Asia reported.
This protest was held in a series of demonstrations by hundreds of Hong Kong, Tibetan and Uyghurs in London and Washington on the occasion of the Chinese National Day. (ANI)
