On Saturday, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Roads and Highways, launched ” iRASTE ”, an artificial intelligence (AI) -based project, on a pilot basis in Nagpur in Maharashtra with ” iRASTE ” aiming to prevent accidents to reduce by 50%.

The iRASTE project aims to rethink road safety with the predictive power of AI. For the first time, AI will act as a force multiplier and change traffic safety technology. Predictive insights generated by AI can prevent accidents before they happen. Over time, the project expects a 50% decrease in traffic accidents in Nagpur City and a reduction in blackspots on the city’s road network.

Sophia the Robot will go into series production this year

The Department of Space (DoS) has a framework MoU with the Hyderabad-based space technology startup Skyroot Aerospace Pvt. Ltd., for access to ISRO facilities and know-how for the development and testing of subsystems / systems of launch vehicles. This makes Skyroot the first private company to formally enter into an agreement with ISRO.

Zurich-based insurance company Swiss Re and Switzerland-based startup Climeworks have teamed up to fight climate change by building the world’s first major Direct Air Capture (DAC) + storage facility. Known as the Orca, the facility will consume around 870 cars a year.
