1. FinTech unicorn Klarna grabs the social shopping company HERO

Buy now, pay later Big Hitter Klarna has taken over the HERO social shopping platform. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a press release, Klarna said it will “introduce HERO to its 250,000 retail partners so their in-store teams can instantly become content creators, offering reviews, real-time advice, and richer, more engaging, and more informative product-related content to get the best of.” In-store shopping becomes an online experience for consumers. “

HERO, based in London and New York, was founded in 2015 and counts Levi, Rag & Bone, Chloé and Harvey Nichols among its customers.

It also shares a number of retail partners with Klarna’s network, such as Nike and JD Sports. All 100+ HERO employees will join Klarna.

2. Tony Hoggett is leaving Tesco for the physical Amazon store role

Tony Hoggett is stepping down from Tesco’s Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer to lead Amazon’s international branch operations.

He will move to Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington in January 2022 and become Senior VP of Physical Stores.
