Giorgio Armani Selfless (104) Lip Power Satin Lipstick ($ 38.00 for 0.1 oz.) Is a light to medium pink with moderate, warm undertones and fine mother-of-pearl paired with a soft sheen. It had a semi-transparent pigmentation that could be built up to a semi-opaque covering power. The texture was smooth, balsamic, and had moderate slip to begin with, but it turned into a stickier, slightly sticky feel that tended to emphasize my lip lines / lip texture. It lasted three hours and felt slightly moisturizing.

Formula overview

The formula is said to have “satin, vivid colors with buildable coverage that lasts all day” (they claim to “wear 8 hours” without having to reapply). I found that the opacity varied widely from lighter to deeper shades, and shades of mother-of-pearl and more luminosity to the finish tended to be more sheer, a little buildable, and tended to cluster in my lip lines.
More mid-tones and deeper color tones tended to have a real satin finish – not too glossy, but not matt – and had more semi-opaque to opaque coverage – so they could not be built up as much. The texture was light, creamy, and smooth without being too dense or too soft in the tube. I found the formula to feel shinier and more balsamic at first, but felt slightly sticky on top, not emollient, and a bit clingy compared to the original texture (not badly clingy for most of the time!).
As expected, lighter, more transparent shades did not wear as long or as well as medium and darker, satin shades. Lighter shades lasted between three and four hours while darker shades lasted between four and six hours, with few reaching nearly eight hours. The formula was comfortable to wear and moisturized slightly to moderately over time.

It had medium buildable pigmentation (to mostly opaque) that applied evenly and smoothly to my lips. The texture felt light, slightly creamy, and set to a less emollient, slightly sticky feel after about a minute. It lasted well for four hours and felt slightly moisturizing over time.
