Dead: André Collison
The police are looking for the prime suspect in the murder of 38-year-old Andre Collison, known as “DJ Choppy”, who was stabbed to death shortly after midnight on Thursday.
Police headquarters announced that the incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. on Friday at Puruni Landing, Middle Mazaruni in Region Seven.
According to police, Collison from Bartica, Essequibo River, left his room in search of food and went to the Two Blessed Sisters Restaurant and placed an order; While he was waiting for the meal, the suspect entered and a dispute ensued over the funds owed.
“The argument became heated and the suspect pulled a knife out of his pants waist and stabbed the victim in the abdomen and then managed to escape,” the police report said.
Collison was taken to the Puruni Health Station, where he succumbed to his injuries while on treatment. The police are looking for the suspect.
