Aldi is one of several stores that employ thousands of seasonal workers

Retail workers are in demand for the holiday season when more people go to stores.

Stores everywhere are expected to be open this year after some stores were closed due to coronavirus lockdowns over Christmas 2020.

That means more people are taking to the high street and ordering online, despite the threat of bottlenecks on some shelves due to ongoing supply chain problems.

Aldi

Aldi hires 1,500 temporary workers for Christmas to work at the tills and replenish stocks.

Employees will also pick and pack orders using the click-and-collect service, which is available in around 200 branches.

Kelly Stokes, Recruitment Director at Aldi UK, said: “We always need extra support during the busy Christmas season, but this year especially, colleagues in the temporary stores will play an important role in stocking our shelves as the nation changes prepared for reunion with loved ones after missing the 2020 festive celebrations. “

Vendors nationwide are paid £ 10.57 per hour or £ 11.32 at locations within the M25.

Everyone who works for the supermarket during the Christmas period gets Christmas Day off.
