The earnings element of the Triple Lock has been removed amid concerns that the sum could rise by more than what was affordable.

And the pension for married women is linked directly to the state basic pension at 60 percent of this rate.

This means that married women making a claim on this basis would receive £ 82.45 per week.

But 60 percent of £ 141.85 is charged at £ 85.11, and that increase is expected for those eligible next year.

These individuals can expect to receive just over £ 340 worth of assistance each month.
