I will not receive any beauty products as a gift unless it is a gift with the purchase. I actually have a policy of no physical gifts; If I need a physical object, I buy it myself when I need it, otherwise I prefer to keep my belongings small and gifts create a mess.
I give beauty products away to others because some women in my life are completely opposite to me and love receiving things and having multiple beauty products.
I always bring personal care products to my best friend in Europe (she’s not into makeup). I usually give my grandmother fancy apple-scented hand creams and soaps (she’s obsessed with finding a particular scent that she remembers from a discontinued FA soap from the 80-90s).
I also give away skin and body care products to colleagues (female), I avoid make-up and fragrances because, from my point of view, these are personal.
My mother is usually the recipient of most beauty gifts. First of all, I always have to give her Marc Jacobs Liner in blaquer and travel sizes from Victoria Secret Parfums. She loves to change her perfumes, so she always asks about minis and travel sizes, she doesn’t like large bottles. I also always try to get shower gels from my travels that are unique to this region / country. My mom actually got every beauty product I don’t really want / need (some people never get my no-gift policy); She loves all the perfume samples and Sephora birthday gifts that I don’t like. Since I have unfortunately not returned to Europe since the beginning of the pandemic, I haven’t given her anything for a long time.
Men in my life are absolutely picky about their routines, just like me, and don’t take them as gifts.
