Oh this jazz
ColourPop Oh That Jazz Super Shock Shadow Duo ($ 12.00 for 0.07 oz.) Contains cream colored eye shadows in light golden bronze and a sparkling black. I wish ColourPop would use the Super Shock Shadow for more “sparkly over matte” formulas because it works well for them. Both eyeshadows were smooth, emollient, mixable and long lasting with full color coverage.

Gin Rickey
Gin Rickey is a light, golden bronze with warmer undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The eyeshadow came richly pigmented with full coverage in a single layer that was applied evenly with a brush or fingertip. The consistency was slightly softening, smooth, and easy to pick up and transfer without shearing too easily, although it could be used as a heat wash if desired. It lasted a good 10 hours without fading or wrinkling.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that is available in a variety of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most gliding effect (they feel “wetter”), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade of ColourPop I’ve tried has been exceptionally long-lasting (over 10 hours of wear, usually there until I remove it, even 14 hours later). Pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.
Of the feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love it, but some don’t like it at all. They’re not a traditional cream eyeshadow because they’re denser (more spongy) and are best applied to me with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249). The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I just felt that fingers are necessary on some shades (usually the super glittery ones).
The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque coverage, although they are often buildable. The edges can be a little tricky to disperse, although some are very nice to work with.
The shimmery shades were the weakest for me as they can be more transparent or difficult to apply. Sometimes they’re more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often they’re more sheer and just work well dabbed on more pigmented eyeshadow to add glitter. They do tend to have little fallout over time, however, with occasional hues having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most glitter powder eyeshadows).

Golden age
Golden age is a rich black base with subtle, warm undertones paired with lighter and darker gold sparkles. It had an opaque color coverage in a single pass that was applied evenly to bare skin and blended well around the edges. The texture felt smooth, pliable, but not too runny so it didn’t tend to shear. It lasted well over 10 hours without fading or wrinkling.
