Fancy springs

ColourPop Fancy Feathers Super Shock Shadow Duo ($ 12.00 for 0.07 oz.) Is a double dose of gold – lighter, peach-colored gold paired with darker, traditional gold – with glittery, Christmassy finishes. Both shades were pigmented, creamy, and mixable with excellent comfort, just like I would expect from the Super Shock Shadow formula.

avant-garde

avant-garde is a medium-dark gold with warmer undertones and a slightly sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was smooth, slightly emollient, and light as it quickly turned into a more powdery finish as soon as it came in contact with my skin. It had an opaque paint cover that stuck evenly and blended well along the edges. It lasted well over 10 hours without fading or wrinkling.

ColourPop Super Shock Shadow is a cream-based formula that is available in a variety of shades and finishes. The more metallic shades have the most gliding effect (they feel “wetter”), while the more matte ones have a firmer, more clay-like consistency. Almost every shade of ColourPop I’ve tried has been exceptionally long-lasting (over 10 hours of wear, usually there until I remove it, even 14 hours later). Pigmentation can vary from shade to shade, but the average shade is quite pigmented.

Of the feedback I’ve seen from readers, many love it, but some don’t like it at all. They’re not a traditional cream eyeshadow because they’re denser (more spongy) and are best applied to me with flat, firm, synthetic brushes (I like the MAC 242 and 249). The brand recommends using fingers for the most pigmented application, but I just felt that fingers are necessary on some shades (usually the super glittery ones).

The more matte shades can be on the drier side and vary from medium to opaque coverage, although they are often buildable. The edges can be a little tricky to disperse, although some are very nice to work with.

The shimmery shades were the weakest for me as they can be more transparent or difficult to apply. Sometimes they’re more pigmented and work like the other finishes in the formula, but often they’re more sheer and just work well dabbed on more pigmented eyeshadow to add glitter. They do tend to have little fallout over time, however, with occasional hues having a more moderate amount of fallout (but still less fallout than most glitter powder eyeshadows).

Deco days

Deco days is a light, light peach gold with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was richly pigmented while the consistency was smooth and pliable to the touch, but once applied to bare skin, it quickly dried to a more powdery finish, ensuring it didn’t settle in fine lines but was still blended could . It has worn well for 10 hours without fading or wrinkling.
