SATELLITE START

China launched a new satellite on Saturday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern Shanxi Province.

The Gaofen-11 03 satellite was launched by a Long March-4B rocket at 9:51 a.m. (Beijing time) and successfully entered planned orbit.

Developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the satellite is mainly used for land surveys, town planning, land rights confirmation, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster risk reduction and reduction.

NEW ENERGY VEHICLES

China is expected to have more than 300 million registered cars by the end of this year, an official with the Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers said Saturday during a forum at the World Manufacturing Convention in Hefei, capital of east China’s Anhui Province.

Statistics show that from January to October, the cumulative production and sales volume of New Energy Vehicles in China increased 1.8 times compared to the previous year. New Energy Vehicles accounted for 11 percent of gross car sales.

A report on China’s New Energy Vehicle Industry was published at the forum, which states that China’s New Energy vehicle industry is entering the market-driven growth phase after about 20 years of development and is heading to a new level of high-quality development.

5G INDUSTRIAL INTERNET

The China 5G + Industrial Internet Conference 2021, jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the People’s Government of Hubei Province, began on Saturday in Wuhan, central China.

Academics and experts, entrepreneurs and representatives from industry associations from across the country gathered at the national-level event to discuss the broader integration and innovation of 5G and the industrial internet.

A total of 21 thematic sessions have started at the conference since Friday. Topics include applications in industries such as mining, steel, transportation, manufacturing, electricity, integrated innovation in healthcare, education and smart cities, as well as key technologies such as industrial internet identification, security ecology, blockchain applications and industrial intelligence.
