Lightning forecast

Chinese researchers have used lightning data to improve the accuracy of short-term predictions of convective precipitation.

Hydropower plant

The Gezhouba hydropower plant on the Yangtze, China’s longest river, has produced around 600 billion kilowatt hours of clean energy since it was commissioned 40 years ago.

According to the China Three Gorges Corporation, the Gezhouba Dam in Yichang, Hubei Province, central China, is the first large hydropower plant in the Yangtze River with a total installed capacity of around 2.74 million kilowatts.
